Digital Herpes

Handan, 2008

Following on from the big brother / little sister thread – I've penned a short article in this week’s New Media Age titled Great To See You. Just Not Around Here. It touches on content generation in a world of location awareness - and that just like herpes (so I've been told, perhaps it was by you) it will be the gift that will keep on giving. That photo or video or audio or location positioning or search term or, or that tells a story that you'd rather keep to yourself. Except that now it's out there, and will outlive you. Nice thought eh? The bottom line is that the one thing we will never share is an acceptable notion of what is OK to share.

New Media Age is subscription only - so in the spirit of the Future Perfect I've posted the article online for your reading pleasure here. If you want to keep this site advertising free, you'll need to buy a stranger a cup of coffee. I'll be watching.
