Say, have you done (or do you know of) any research into how people customize their own mobile phones? Apart from using the "official" ways of customization like different-color cases: What else do people do with their mobiles? I'm sure there's lots of interesting ideas floating around out there :)

The only published research I know of is the Physical Personalisation presentation towards the bottom of this http://www.janchipchase.com/publications] page.

Korea seems to be the home of super-hardware-kustomisation.

Thanks a lot, that presentation is really enjoyable! I hadn't expected to see so many people customize the _inside_ of their back covers... ;)

Also, it really got me curious, so I started a flickr group for customized phones.
