Somewhat unnerving to have local council security cameras rotating and appearing to obseve the research observations.

Taking pictures in the UK these days is risking being stopped or ending up at a Police station at best and being arrested at worst.
This was mentioned during my interview and several persons emailed me that they had been stopped by the Police for taking pictures or even just drawing buildings (this happened to someone drawing the South Bank complex).
It is also now illegal to take picture of tube stations (even the outside) without prior permission. See the links in the entry http://gizmonaut.net/bits/suspect.html#20060118 for more information.
I wonder how these erosions of our civil rights will affect research efforts such as yours?
